ABOUT CRISTIAN KAIGLER
Cristian Kaigler is a filmmaker, photographer, writer and video editor—a truth seeker who shares what he refers to as Black Ass Stories. He is the founder of Safe House Filmworks, a production company predicated on innovative storytelling.
Cristian is inspired by the stories of the past that help shape today's society. Along his journey he learned a great deal about photography and filmmaking, but he learned even more about the power of storytelling and the hard work that is required to galvanize communities.
A few of the companies and institutions Cristian has worked with include Revolt TV, Netflix, 300 Entertainment, Monster, Syracuse University and more.
In addition to having worked with such companies, Cristian's works have been featured at the Barclays Center, House of Blues, Dodger Stadium, Afropunk and the Everson Museum, to name a few.
So far, Cristian's video work has amassed over 10 million views collectively across multiple YouTube channels.
CRISTIAN'S STORY
A forever lover of all things art, Cristian was introduced to the world of photography and film by his late father, who was a former photographer and videographer. The art of photography came naturally as Cristian began with 35mm B&W film photography in 2012, which evolved to digital photography and then film directing—a seamless progression.
In the summer of 2016, Cristian had the good fortune of shadowing 7x Emmy Award-winning filmmaker: Alastair Christopher, otherwise known as Gee-Lock. Having the opportunity to work under Gee-Lock on an array of projects gave Cristian proper perspective and showed him that achieving success in the film industry is possible.
Since then, Cristian has gone on to photograph talents such as Nas, J. Cole, Young Thug, Virgil Abloh, 2 Chainz, Victor Cruz and others alike. He has also directed visual projects for Dr. Boyce Watkins, Shaggy, Om’mas Keith, Kash Doll and many other noteworthy people.
